Georgia Council for the Arts Awards More Than $3.1 Million in Grant Funding to Support More than 200 Arts Organizations Throughout Georgia

ATLANTA – August 24, 2022 – Georgia Council for the Arts, a strategic arm of the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD), today announced the recipients of its Bridge, Project, and Arts Education grants as part of its initial disbursement of grants for fiscal year 2023, which began on July 1. A total of 253 grants were awarded for arts initiatives throughout the state. This year’s more than $3.1 million in grant funding is an increase of more than $1 million over last year’s total.

PHL COVID-19 Fund awards $2.4 million in latest grants to area nonprofits

The PHL COVID-19 Fund awarded $2.4 million to 87 area nonprofits on Thursday in its fifth round of grants. Formed on March 19, the fund has now given more than $13 million to 383 nonprofits during the coronavirus pandemic.

The fund is a collaboration established by the City of Philadelphia, Philadelphia Foundation, and the United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey. Since its founding, PHL COVID-19 has secured more than $16 million in gifts and pledges from nearly 5,000 individuals, families, foundations, businesses, and institutions.

Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta and United Way of Greater Atlanta mobilize more than $17 million for those most at risk

The Greater Atlanta COVID-19 Response and Recovery Fund, a joint effort from Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta and United Way of Greater Atlanta, today announces the Fund’s sixth round of grants. To date, the Fund has raised more than $25 million through collective resources. The two organizations have together identified the areas of greatest need and the most vulnerable populations to determine where to deliver funds.

Seven local tourism projects across Georgia land state grants

The other 2020 grant winners include the Athens Downtown Development Authority, which is designing an Athens Music Walk of Fame; the Georgia Writer's Museum in Putnam County; a historic tour being developed in downtown Norcross; a brochure put together by the Development Authority of McDuffie County to accompany self-guided tours of local churches, and an agritourism project in Tifton focusing on Georgia-grown cotton.
